Has anyone ever been diagnosed with or know anything about lumbar spinal stenosis?

I had my low back x-rayed, the doc said I have narrowing discs, then she wanted me to get a MRI, so I did, I am still waiting on results but the MRI dude told me it looked like lumbar spinal stenosis. Does this require surgery? Thanks

It doesn’t require surgery.
What it means is this.
The holes that the nerves come out of in your spine are narrowing… therefore pinching on the nerves
You can do exercises and physical therapy to help relieve symptoms
Also, if those fail there are nerve blocks that pain management specialists can do.
Finally years down the road, there may be surgery… but that is a long time away.

Lumbar canal stenosis does not benefit from surgery like laminectomy. Spontaneous remission of pain occurs at variable times for inexplicable reasons.
Spinal Stenosis is like arthritis of the spine. It is common in anyone over 30 or very active person. I have it, with herniated disc, and nerve damage (Radiclupathy), and I was going to get surgery done for the relief of the nerve damage, a Discetomy and a Laminectomy. When they do these, they can open the disc area, that the stenosis is better, but to my knowlege, surgery isn’t needed unless very serious pain and other problems!
