Cindi W asked:

I have spinal stenosis, cervical radiculopathy and herniated discs. After I stopped the traction at PT (my insurance stopped paying).
I started to get really intense headaches.
Now my blood pressure is really high
160/110 and my doc said it is from the pain.

Does pain cause your BP to go up like that?

I have suffered from chronic pain from multiple back surgeries and spinal stenosis in my neck and back for years. These are my options other than vicodin without taking something stronger. Is there a difference in the two?

My dad went to the doctor because he had neck pain, and they took an x-ray. This is what the doctor gave him when he went back. What does it mean? It says:

“Disc extrusion at C3-C4, with moderate central spinal stenosis. There is associated caudal dissection of the extruded disc in a left paracentral location. There is stenosis, particularly involving the left neural foramen at this level.”

Thanks!

I had a spinal fusion 6 months ago to fix an unstable low back (Spinal Stenosis). I had horrible pains down my legs due to the Sciatic nerve being pinched and I could barely walk. The nerve is free now and I have no pain going down my leg anymore. However, I do still have a lot of back pain in my low back. I’m wondering if I can continue to do nursing. The constant bending is aggravating my back pain so bad I have to take pain meds to keep going. How do you cope with this problem? Any real help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I now have a titanium cage with side rods in my low back screwed into three vertebrae. My low back is fixed because of all the metal in it. I can’t in anyway bend where the cage is implanted.

I was diagnosed originally with spinal stenosis and a degenerated disk. I went thru physical therapy, was given shots and had nerves lasered in my back. Nothing helped. I seeked a second opinion and was told I did not have those medical conditions. It took until July 2007 and working with my own family physician that I found out what I have. I have osteo arthritis and I am having to have my left hip replaced. I have suffered in pain since the orignal diagnosis and had spent a lot of money on unnecessary medical procedures and medicine. Is there a statue of of limitations of sueing the original doctor who mis diagnosed me?

Has anyone been approved for ssi that has spinal stenosis? I read on the ssa website a list of disabilities that are considererd so severe that they are basicaly approved and spinal stenosis with leg pain is on it. I was just wandering if anyone has been through the process before and could tell me what to expect as far as how long it takes to get approved and to get a check. Any help will be greatly appraciated. Thank you
