Cat asked:

Hello, I have tried chronic pain clinics, some strong meds, accupuncture, exercise, etc and still have lumbar spine back pain that greatly limits my function. I have bulging discs in L4 and L5 with spinal stenosis. Has anyone had any luck with anything alternative? Your honest replies greatly appreciated, THANKS :)

1. Marrow signal is uniform.
2. The visualized portion of spinal cord & cauda equina are normal.

Impression

1. Right sided eccentric disc herniation at L4-L5 causing spinal stenosis.
2. Degenerative changes at L2-L3 & L3-L4, but no disc herniation, spinal stenoisis or nerve root impingement at any other level.

All my pain is in my right hip and severe at times. What would be or COULD be the treatment?

CharJ, asked:

Has anyone heard of a spinal procedure called an X Stop procedure or had one done??? It’s for spinal stenosis and I’m thinking about seeing my doctor about it.
Hey Brenda. I like your avatar too..hehe. Please go to the link below and you can see what the FDA says about this procedure. Sounds good to me. Thanks much.

I have chronic pain in which I was told by one doctor that he believed me, but I quit seeing him due to the fact that he told me to keep taking a medication that put me in the ER (a breakout of rash & hives & throat closing up) I was very allergic to it & after the ER visit the Dr. told me 2 keep taking it anyway. Well since I had brain surgery for Arnold Chiari Malformation. It only helped a small bit with pressure in my head & headaches. I still have chronic back pain (upper & lower) along with many other symptoms (numbness in arms, face, legs, and pain in my legs big time). The list goes on.

My main problem is the pain in my back and legs. I was told I have a type of spinal stenosis (foraminal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, a 1 cm mass which could just be a hemangioma, and osteophytes & osteoartriitis. However a doctor has told me this is not causing my pain. That NONE OF THESE THINGS CAUSE PAIN, so it must just be depression and in my head. Do you know if these things even if “mild” could cause the chronic bad pain? Some days I have trouble walking, it is that bad! I am sick of the run around. I am about to send my doctor a letter about this and any articles I might find on them (if anyone can find anything to help me out), that way he will believe my pain. They found these things after I complained of all this pain, in which became worse over a few years. So much worse, I just can’t stand it anymore! Any help or advice would be appreciated. Sorry this is so long. Serious answers only please.

Oh and one doctor said that those things would not cause any of the symptoms I have and would not spread anyway to the legs or arms or even the neck/ shoulder area.

My mother hada fall 3 months ago and has no memory of it. She has all past and recent memories. Good with recent incidents and names. Has severe spinal stenosis and was prescribed Vicodin and steroid shots. Since then started hallucinating. Initially it was thought Vicodin was the cause and was totally stopped. Had a steroid shot last week and again this week she is hallucinating. Has major depression. Could this be dementia?
