I was diagnosed originally with spinal stenosis and a degenerated disk. I went thru physical therapy, was given shots and had nerves lasered in my back. Nothing helped. I seeked a second opinion and was told I did not have those medical conditions. It took until July 2007 and working with my own family physician that I found out what I have. I have osteo arthritis and I am having to have my left hip replaced. I have suffered in pain since the orignal diagnosis and had spent a lot of money on unnecessary medical procedures and medicine. Is there a statue of of limitations of sueing the original doctor who mis diagnosed me?

My dad went to the doctor because he had neck pain, and they took an x-ray. This is what the doctor gave him when he went back. What does it mean? It says:

“Disc extrusion at C3-C4, with moderate central spinal stenosis. There is associated caudal dissection of the extruded disc in a left paracentral location. There is stenosis, particularly involving the left neural foramen at this level.”

Thanks!

I have chronic pain in which I was told by one doctor that he believed me, but I quit seeing him due to the fact that he told me to keep taking a medication that put me in the ER (a breakout of rash & hives & throat closing up) I was very allergic to it & after the ER visit the Dr. told me 2 keep taking it anyway. Well since I had brain surgery for Arnold Chiari Malformation. It only helped a small bit with pressure in my head & headaches. I still have chronic back pain (upper & lower) along with many other symptoms (numbness in arms, face, legs, and pain in my legs big time). The list goes on.

My main problem is the pain in my back and legs. I was told I have a type of spinal stenosis (foraminal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, a 1 cm mass which could just be a hemangioma, and osteophytes & osteoartriitis. However a doctor has told me this is not causing my pain. That NONE OF THESE THINGS CAUSE PAIN, so it must just be depression and in my head. Do you know if these things even if “mild” could cause the chronic bad pain? Some days I have trouble walking, it is that bad! I am sick of the run around. I am about to send my doctor a letter about this and any articles I might find on them (if anyone can find anything to help me out), that way he will believe my pain. They found these things after I complained of all this pain, in which became worse over a few years. So much worse, I just can’t stand it anymore! Any help or advice would be appreciated. Sorry this is so long. Serious answers only please.

Oh and one doctor said that those things would not cause any of the symptoms I have and would not spread anyway to the legs or arms or even the neck/ shoulder area.

My mother hada fall 3 months ago and has no memory of it. She has all past and recent memories. Good with recent incidents and names. Has severe spinal stenosis and was prescribed Vicodin and steroid shots. Since then started hallucinating. Initially it was thought Vicodin was the cause and was totally stopped. Had a steroid shot last week and again this week she is hallucinating. Has major depression. Could this be dementia?

Spinal Stenosis?

spinal stenosis
snowman68 asked:

Has anyone out there been diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis? And if so, has anyone ‘recently’ undergone a Spinal Fusion surgery? I am having my surgery this upcoming Monday (July 16, 2007) and I have to admit I am very nervous to say the least. If anyone has recently been through this surgery, I would appreciate your details, feedback and overall opinion as to what you have been through. Thanks!
